Description
Cornet Obolensky needs no introduction; he has dominated the sport and breeding world for over a decade. Phenomenally successful as both a sport and breeding stallion, he is still as popular for breeding today as he was at the height of his international career. His good looks, temperament and outstanding technique and scope, and that of his offspring, have seen him counted amongst the best stallions in the world for heritability and reliability. Today, his children and grand-children fly the Cornet Obolensky flag at the top level all over the globe.
Top ranked sire on the WBFSH Jumping Sire ranking for many years! Never before have we seen a stallion dominate all the international events in breeding and competition at such a degree. Already 21 of his oldest offspring have advanced to the highest level of show jumping. It is rare to find a stallion been so prepotent in passing on his talent for top-level sport. Cornet Obolensky has consistently produced elite offspring for the highest level and has thus maintained a place in the WBFSH Jumper Sire Ranking since 2013.
Cassini II is the full brother of Cassini I. Injured when younger, it has taken time to prove himself, but is now very sought after because of his talented offspring. Modern in type and very attractive. Better producer than Cassini I.
Cassini II, the younger full brother of Cassini I, was approved in Holstein in 1996 with a high jumping index. Unfortunately he was injured when young and did not compete in sport although is now sought after as a sire due to his quality and talented offspring. At his Licensing he achieved high scores for his jumping as well as for his character and temperament. Cassini I & II are sons of the great Capitol I. Capitol I was on the top of the WBFSH (World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses) rankings lists 2000-2001. There are over 25 approved stallions by Capitol in Holstein, for example Dobel’s Cento, Carthago Z, Carolus I & II, Calato, Cardento, C-Indoctro, Carano and Clearway as well as the Cassini brothers. Worldwide there are many more approved sons and in Germany alone there are 564 registered sport horses which have won in excess of €5.3 million in prizemoney. Capitol I was a valuable foundation sire in the Holstein stud book.
Cassini II’s dam Wisma is by Caletto II who was awarded Champion of his year when he was licensed in Holstein. Caletto II, one of the best sons of Cor de la Bryere has been a significant influence in jumping breeding even though he only stood for 4 years. He is the sire of Classic Touch who took Luger Beerbaum to win gold at the Barcelona Olympics. Wisma also produced the young Holsteiner Verband stallion Clarimo (by Clearway) along with a full sister to Cassini I & II who has produced the licensed stallion Lovari )by Lasino). Another daughter of Wisma, Mira (by Lansing) is the dam of the licensed stallion Cassaro.
Offspring
Cassini II’s progeny are modern in type and show great jumping potential. Many of his offspring qualified for the German Championships (Bundeschampionart) in Warendorf in 2005 & 2006. In 2005 one of his numerous licensed sons Camargue was sold for €230,000 to Denmark. In 2007 eight of his sons made the final selection for the stallion licensing and three were licensed. Cassini II produced the best jumping horse of the Elite Riding Horse auction in Neumunster in 2004, Caress, a mare which sold for €105,000 to a well known sport stable in Germany. Caress under the name of Ophelia, along with Cassius and Centurion are top jumping horses and are amongst many who are proving his worth as a sire of jumping horses.
